Senior Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer – Field

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is seeking a Senior Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to support the full life‑cycle of AWS data centers. You will work on design, construction, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end engineering support from concept design through site improvement and maintenance.
• Act as the go‑to technical resource for regional teams, delivering troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action documentation.
• Design and implement upgrades that add capacity, improve availability, and enhance sustainability.
• Collaborate with operations, design, hardware, and safety teams to enforce standards and consistency.
• Lead engineering audits, on‑site visits, and produce risk‑mitigation reports.
• Serve as resident engineer during new construction, supporting commissioning and turnover.

Required profile

• Strong engineering judgement with the ability to make recommendations amid uncertainty.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects across regions.
