Senior Cold Store Administrator (Food Industry)

About the role

The client is a leading processor and distributor of seafood products operating a cold store in Montague Gardens, near Cape Town. They are seeking a Senior Cold Store Administrator to provide clerical support to the Cold Store Manager and coordinate daily administrative activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage service providers: schedule work, verify OHS compliance, assign work areas and ensure purchase orders are in place.
• Perform general administrative duties and keep all files up to date.
• Allocate stock correctly in the system and verify weight, carton count, product condition and quantity before loading/unloading.
• Ensure accurate documentation, daily POD returns, and timely handling of problem orders and queries.
• Maintain leave register, off‑load containers on schedule, and book GRVs in the system.
• Order truck seals, office stationery and supplies.
• Act as liaison between logistics, HR and other departments.
• Control documentation for internal processes, MHE and local deliveries; scan daily delivery notes against load sheets.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a cold store, warehouse or similar environment.
• At least 2 years of administrative experience.
• Reliable transport and willingness to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP B1 preferred.
