Senior Claims Validator - Injury on Duty

About the role

Medical Resources Group is recruiting on behalf of its client, an established organisation specialising in Injury on Duty (IOD) claims administration and medical accounts management, for an experienced Senior Validator to join its production team. The role suits someone with strong experience in IOD claims, medical claims validation or a related healthcare funding environment, and involves assessing claims, validating billing, supporting clients and meeting strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and validate Injury on Duty claim information and review medical billing line by line according to applicable tariffs and regulations
• Assess accounts against payment history and supporting information, keeping claim processing accurate and on time
• Update internal systems with relevant claim information
• Manage allocated client accounts and practices, communicate with clients about claims, accounts and outstanding information, and guide them on claims processes
• Follow up on required documentation from clients, employers and third parties, and resolve queries on legislation, claims and treatment submissions
• Ensure procedures and production standards are followed, contribute to production and revenue targets, assist with onboarding and training of new team members, and support other departments and perform ad hoc duties

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
• Previous experience in Injury on Duty claims or a similar claims environment (essential)
• Medical claims experience (essential)
• Experience in client and funder communication (essential)
• Tertiary qualification (advantageous)
• Analytical, detail-oriented and process-driven, with strong written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with medical claims and online funder systems (advantageous)
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work under pressure
