Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading civil engineering firm, is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing civils team in Cape Town. The role involves delivering design solutions for infrastructure projects across South Africa and the wider African region within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and draft civil engineering works in line with project requirements and QMS checklists.
• Take responsibility for technical aspects of projects across ECSA Stages 1–6, including detailed design of roads, bulk earthworks and piped networks.
• Prepare engineering documentation, drawings and technical deliverables while applying relevant design codes and construction specifications.
• Coordinate technical requirements with multidisciplinary project teams and review designs to ensure quality and compliance.

Required profile

• BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering with at least 6 years of design experience in the built environment.
• Strong experience in roads, stormwater, water and sewer infrastructure.
• Registration or near‑registration with ECSA as a PrEng or PrTechEng.
• Sound knowledge of current design codes and construction specifications.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of the Infrastructure Design Automation Suite (iDAS) (advantageous).
