Manager, Maintenance and Engineering (EE), Cape Town

About the role

The client, a multi‑facility organisation headquartered in Bedfordview, is seeking a senior engineering leader for its Cape Town site. The role oversees all engineering design, construction, modification and maintenance activities for critical infrastructure supporting aviation and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities covering design, development, construction, modification, maintenance and service of infrastructure.
• Lead the Maintenance & Engineering team, ensuring operational effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Control operational and capital budgets and oversee tender and budgeting processes.
• Maintain compliance with OHS Act, ICAO, CAA and other safety standards.
• Provide internal customer support through effective Helpdesk management.
• Stay current with technological developments in the engineering environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) is essential.
• Minimum 8 years of experience managing complex maintenance and engineering operations.
• At least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP or Oracle ERP systems.
• Experience using a Maintenance Management System (MMS).
• Strong understanding of tendering and budgeting processes.
