Senior Azure DevOps Engineer – Terraform & IaC

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation and delivery of complex Azure environments for enterprise clients. The role combines strategic architecture with hands‑on implementation of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Azure DevOps.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain multi‑stage YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps for end‑to‑end infrastructure deployment.
• Create reusable, production‑grade Terraform modules for a wide range of Azure services and manage state securely.
• Implement Azure governance using Policy, Blueprints and management groups to enforce cost and security controls.
• Embed DevSecOps practices, managing secrets with Azure Key Vault and integrating static code analysis.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex pipeline and infrastructure issues, providing deep‑dive troubleshooting and performance optimisation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience covering compute, networking, storage and identity services.
• 3+ years of production‑grade Terraform experience on Azure, including module development and advanced state management.
• Proven track record delivering end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for enterprise workloads.

• Microsoft Azure (VMs, AKS, App Services, Functions, VNETs, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Storage, SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure AD)
• Terraform (azurerm provider, reusable modules, Terraform Cloud or Azure Storage back‑ends)
• Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines, Azure Repos, Azure Artifacts, Service Connections)
• Scripting with PowerShell and Bash
• Azure governance tools (Policy, Blueprints, Management Groups)
• Security integration (Azure Key Vault, DevSecOps practices)
• Version control with Git (branching strategies such as GitFlow)
• Containerisation basics (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)
