Senior Android Developer (Mobile Team)

About the role

Discovery’s Digital Channels team is looking for a Senior Android Developer to join the Mobile Team. You will support projects throughout the full lifecycle – from requirements gathering and design to implementation, release, and post‑release support – helping to deliver high‑quality mobile experiences for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Android applications with a focus on code quality and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Analyse, enhance, and troubleshoot existing applications efficiently.
• Produce technical specifications, designs, and accurate development estimates.
• Participate in new business development through ideation, prototyping, and project estimation.
• Research and share new techniques, tools, and best practices with the team.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the system development life cycle and the role of a Java/Android developer at each stage.
• Familiarity with development tools, processes, and workflows used in enterprise mobile projects.
• Ability to differentiate and implement business, functional, and non‑functional requirements.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality source code and maintaining high standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Self‑starter who takes ownership and can work with minimal supervision.
