Senior Accountant (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own the preparation of annual accounts and tax returns for our New Zealand client base. This fully remote position is ideal for a self‑motivated professional who takes pride in delivering clean, review‑ready files on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements and income tax returns for NZ companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders.
• Manage the full compliance cycle from trial balance to filed return, ensuring all documentation is complete.
• Identify tax efficiencies and flag any inconsistencies before they become issues.
• Deliver high‑quality work remotely while meeting deadlines and budget targets.

Required profile

• Proven practice accounting experience with a track record of preparing annual accounts and tax returns.
• Ability to learn New Zealand tax and reporting requirements quickly.
• Self‑driven, highly efficient and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Reliable home office setup and disciplined workload management.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Xero (preferred).
• Familiarity with Karbon (preferred).
