About the role

A diversified investment group based in Northcliff is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its small, closely‑connected office team. The group operates across mining, retail, game farms and property development, managing around 40 entities. This position offers a recently qualified accounting professional broad commercial exposure and hands‑on involvement in the accounting functions of multiple businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage treasury and banking relationships, including cash flow monitoring and bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll and related staff administration tasks accurately and on time.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
• Maintain asset registers and perform fixed‑asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
• Support foundation management activities, including grant accounting and reporting.
• Execute month‑end close activities and prepare financial statements for each entity.
• Prepare documentation and working papers for audits and internal reviews.
• Assist in budgeting processes and variance analysis across the portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and corporate governance requirements.
• Provide financial support to the founding family, including personal accounting matters.
• Participate in special projects that add commercial value to the group.

Required profile

• Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles.
• Graduate‑level candidate with solid practical accounting exposure gained during articles.
• Good understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations and general accounting principles.
• Experience with multiple entities is advantageous.
• Comfortable working in a small, hands‑on and entrepreneurial office environment.
