Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a rapidly growing pharmaceutical group, is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain financial health through precision, compliance, and strategic insights supporting senior decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and provide actionable explanations for budget variances, ensuring timely financial reporting.
• Navigate complex South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and Exchange‑Control requirements, managing SAD500 documentation and Import Verification Systems for foreign transactions.
• Maintain system pricing integrity, including Single Exit Price (SEP) updates, and deliver margin analysis and costing for new product launches and tenders.
• Maintain effective financial controls over payments, inventory, and master‑data changes, and coordinate month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Required profile

• Hold a Bachelor of Accounting with Honours.
• Qualified as CA(SA) with 2–3 years post‑articles experience, or CIMA with 2–3 years experience, or BCom Hons with 3–5 years relevant accounting experience.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel capabilities.
• Strong working knowledge of Pastel or equivalent ERP systems.
