Senior Account Manager – Public Sector

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Senior Account Manager to drive growth of AWS services within the public sector in South Africa. You will work with national, provincial and local government, as well as healthcare and education organisations, to accelerate their digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Increase market penetration of AWS across key public‑sector accounts.
• Engage C‑level executives, IT leaders, architects and developers to promote AWS solutions.
• Manage existing AWS accounts and acquire new customers within the assigned territory.
• Maintain accurate weekly updates on account activities and forecast opportunities in the CRM.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of field sales experience selling complex cloud or software solutions to large enterprises or government institutions.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota.
• Experience presenting to C‑level executives and negotiating large‑scale technology deals.
• Strong ability to create and implement long‑term account strategies.
