About the role
The Semi‑skilled Artisan will ensure the effective operation of equipment and plant assets at Premier FMCG’s manufacturing site. Working in a fast‑paced FMCG environment, you will support production lines, maintain system reliability and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot equipment failures to minimise downtime.
- Carry out on‑the‑job training for junior staff and assist with skill development.
- Implement plant and system upgrades in line with production requirements.
- Perform routine system maintenance and preventive checks on heavy machinery.
Required profile
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) qualification.
- 1–2 years experience working in a production plant.
- At least 2 years experience as an artisan assistant.
- Good knowledge of OHS legislation and quality management principles.
- Physical ability to work in a pressurised factory environment, including shift work and weekend/holiday rosters.
Required skills
- Engineering knowledge.
- System maintenance.
- Technical troubleshooting.
- Heavy equipment operation.
