Security Controller (Talent Pool) – Bloemfontein

About the role

Dis‑Chem Pharmacies are seeking a Security Controller to supervise on‑site security operations, manage loss‑prevention processes and oversee high‑risk stock at the Bloemfontein store.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise on‑site security guards, allocate duties and ensure compliance with PSIRA regulations.
• Liaise with the off‑site CCTV monitoring centre, request footage, verify incidents and coordinate evidence retrieval.
• Respond promptly to alerts, emergencies and high‑risk incidents, including coordination with SAPS.
• Manage and monitor high‑value stock, investigate shrinkage, oversee authorised write‑offs and conduct physical security audits.
• Prepare and submit incident reports, maintain occurrence books and ensure data confidentiality.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric with PSIRA registration (Grade B or A).
• Minimum 2 years retail security experience in a shopping‑mall environment.
• Knowledge of POPIA, courtroom procedures and basic first‑aid.
• South African citizenship, clean criminal and credit record, valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Required skills

• PSIRA registration and compliance.
• CCTV monitoring and incident reporting systems.
• Operation of Hikvision security systems.
• Digital security systems and access control.
• POPIA compliance for handling CCTV footage and personal data.
• Basic first‑aid certification and knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Computer proficiency with incident, email and reporting tools.
• Stock control, inventory management and basic accounting.
