Scrub Sister – Theatre Qualified

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Scrub Sister to join an established private hospital theatre team in Cape Town. The position is ideal for a theatre‑registered nurse with specialist experience in complex vascular surgery who wishes to build a long‑term career in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide peri‑operative scrub nursing care for surgical teams.
• Prepare surgical instruments, equipment and sterile fields for each procedure.
• Assist surgeons intra‑operatively while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
• Anticipate team needs and manage instrument and supply flow throughout cases.
• Participate in complex vascular procedures such as AAA, EVAR and FEVAR, adhering to theatre protocols.
• Monitor and document patient condition during and after surgery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• SANC‑registered nursing professional.
• Diploma or degree in Nursing.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Operating Theatre nursing.
• Specific experience with complex vascular cases (AAA, EVAR, FEVAR).
