Sales Manager - Wines & Spirits

About the role

A leading distributor of a premium wine and spirits portfolio is looking for an experienced, high-energy Sales Manager based in Cape Town. You will lead commercial growth across the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) territories, driving market expansion, mentoring a regional sales team and raising brand presence in both on-trade (HORECA) and off-trade retail.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial sales plans to exceed revenue targets and market share goals across the three territories.
• Coach and manage a team of field sales representatives, setting performance goals, tracking KPIs and supporting them in the field.
• Oversee key accounts, major regional distributors, key retail buyers and high-profile hospitality groups.
• Use CRM tools such as Skynamo to improve team efficiency, track the pipeline and produce accurate rolling sales forecasts.
• Represent the portfolio at trade events, client presentations and regional tastings.

Required profile

• Proven track record in a sales leadership or regional management role in wines & spirits or premium FMCG.
• Strong, demonstrable wine knowledge; WSET or Cape Wine Academy certification is highly advantageous.
• Deep familiarity with the Western Cape trade landscape and insight into the Eastern Cape and KZN markets.
• Valid driver's licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel regularly across the coastal territories.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems; experience with Skynamo or similar field-sales platforms is a strong plus.
