Sales Assistant

About the role

Mount Nelson, a Belmond hotel in Cape Town, is hiring a Sales Assistant. The role enhances the guest experience by offering high-quality services and products, and suits someone who wants to develop their skills within a luxury setting.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions, and recommend products and services based on your knowledge.
• Monitor and analyse sales performance against targets and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales goals.
• Stay informed about products, industry trends and customer requirements, and proactively seek new sales opportunities.
• Engage with potential customers to expand the customer base and handle complaints to protect the store's reputation.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and keep the store organised and well-stocked.
• Greet customers warmly, assist them and give product information.
• Handle transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including payments, returns and exchanges.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail or another customer-focused environment.
• Knowledge of retail management best practices.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Commercial awareness and effective time management.

Required skills

• Experience with Silverware POS or similar is advantageous.
• Banking skills.
