SAICA Article Clerk – Trainee Accountant Position

About the role

C2M Chartered Accountants is seeking motivated trainees to start their SAICA articles training contract. This apprenticeship offers a structured pathway to qualify as a Chartered Accountant within a supportive, professional environment based in the Tyger Valley area of Bellville, Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior accountants and auditors in the preparation of financial statements and audit documentation.
• Perform routine bookkeeping, data entry, and reconciliations under supervision.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and compliance reports.
• Participate in client meetings and gather necessary information for engagements.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to professional standards.

Required profile

• Completed Matric with Mathematics and Accounting, achieving high marks.
• Registered or accepted for a SAICA‑accredited degree starting in 2027, or already studying/completed such a degree.
• Alternatively, studying or completed a PGDA or ITC qualification.
• Serious commitment to completing the full training contract.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Driver’s licence and own transport preferred but not mandatory.
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
