Director: Risk Advisory Services (Internal Audit)

About the role

This one's for someone who's done the technical work, built the team, and is now ready to build something bigger. A leading professional services firm is looking for a Director to lead and grow its Risk Advisory Services practice in Cape Town, and there's a genuine partner path attached to it.

Key responsibilities

• Set the direction for the Risk Advisory Services practice and drive its growth in line with the firm’s wider goals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on governance, risk, compliance and internal audit.
• Keep engagements on budget, on time, and aligned to proper risk frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Build and mentor a team that delivers high‑quality work and retains talent.
• Generate new business, expand client portfolios and achieve a clear track record of personal sales.

Required profile

• Honours degree in internal audit, accounting or finance and a fully qualified CIA (CISA is a bonus).
• 12+ years in risk advisory or internal audit, including 5‑6 years in senior leadership, strong knowledge of risk frameworks and regulatory compliance, and a proven ability to win new business.
