About the role

An established mining services organisation, specialising in drilling and mine development, is offering a hands-on Safety Officer position across its operational sites in South Africa. The role is permanent and the salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.

Key responsibilities

Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections and audits.
Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and SHEQ standards.
Deliver safety training and promote a strong safety culture.

Required profile

Matric and SAMTRAC (or equivalent safety qualification, NQF 5+).
At least 3 years' Safety Officer experience in mining, drilling, construction or heavy industry.
Sound MHSA knowledge and practical incident investigation experience.
Valid driver's licence, medical fitness and willingness to travel between sites.

Advantages

Professional registration with SACPCMP or SAIOSH.
Raise boring or drilling experience.
ICAM or ISO 45001 training.
