About the role

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport is hiring road workers for a range of locations across the province. Applicants will join a team responsible for maintaining and constructing road infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

Construct culverts and side drains
Erect and maintain steel guardrails and gabions
Assist with fencing and pole erection
Clean and maintain roads, sidewalks and resting areas
Carry out road surfacing and pothole patching
Assist with road markings and signage
Set road markings, studs, signs and distance markers
Barricade work areas, crush road material, clear bushes and cut grass

Required profile

NQF Level 1 or 2 qualification
ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent
Physically fit for manual road maintenance and construction duties outdoors
