RMA Technician

About the role

The RMA Technician will join Get Off Grid’s Technical team in Cape Town, providing both onsite and remote support for solar and battery installations. You will diagnose, repair and commission renewable energy equipment, ensuring customers receive fast and reliable service.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, test and repair inverters, lithium batteries and other renewable energy hardware.
• Perform remote fault‑finding, firmware updates, configuration and functional testing.
• Provide onsite technical assistance, commissioning support and troubleshooting for installers and end‑users.
• Manage RMA and warranty processes, coordinating with manufacturers and maintaining accurate service records.
• Support daily workshop operations, including tool maintenance, inventory control and safety compliance.
• Prepare technical reports and escalate complex issues to senior technical teams or OEMs.
• Deliver hands‑on training sessions to small groups of installers and internal staff.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with renewable energy systems, especially hybrid inverters and high‑voltage DC battery packs.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical information clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high repair standards.
