RH9 Team Leader – Manufacturing Shift Lead

About the role

The RH9 Team Leader is responsible for planning, organising and motivating a production team on the Shatterprufe Struandale line in Port Elizabeth. Reporting to the Shift Manager, the role ensures daily output is maximised while downtime is minimised, adhering to SOPs, quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and control team activities to maximise output and minimise downtime of the line and machines.
• Ensure all work follows SOPs and meets quality specifications in line with customer and business standards.
• Lead the team to achieve targeted volumes, monitor cycle and change‑over times, and complete Short Interval Control documentation hourly.
• Detect and respond promptly to deviations to optimise machine availability and reduce loss.
• Drive 5S housekeeping, safety standards and effective shift hand‑over communication.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with leadership responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, quality systems, glass handling and SAP (advantageous).

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Familiarity with SAP systems.
