RF Hardware Engineer

About the role

The RF Hardware Engineer will join a fast‑growing engineering team in Pretoria‑East, working on cutting‑edge radio frequency technology for international clients. You will be responsible for developing, prototyping and qualifying RF power amplifiers and transceiver components across HF and VHF bands.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype and qualify RF power amplifiers.
• Develop HF and VHF transceiver RF components.
• Create digital RF control hardware and integrate it with RF modules.
• Produce schematics and PCB layouts following RF‑aware design rules.
• Test, debug, optimise and qualify prototype designs using RF test equipment.

Required profile

• BEng degree in Electronic Engineering.
• 0‑5 years of professional hardware development experience.
• Experience with impedance matching, active RF components and RF testing procedures.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB and embedded controller programming.
• Knowledge of radio technology, receivers, transmitters and ATUs.
