Retail Sales Consultant – Hardware Division

About the role

We are recruiting multiple Retail Sales Consultants for a new branch of a national hardware retailer in Cape Town. The role involves assisting customers with product selection, providing technical advice, and supporting store operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with hardware, tools, electrical, lighting, plumbing, paint and related product selections, offering technical guidance.
• Maintain store presentation by stocking, merchandising, and pricing shelves correctly.
• Process stock enquiries, place orders, monitor inventory levels and report shortages using internal systems.
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to the growth of the new branch.
• Handle customer queries, resolve issues professionally, and support general store operations including stock counts.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Previous retail sales experience in hardware, building materials, electrical, lighting, tools, plumbing or paint.
• Experience with stock control and ordering systems (e.g., K8 or similar ERP).
• Good computer literacy and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment and reliable transport to work.

What we offer

• Total cost to company (TCTC) between R 8 500 and R 20 000 per month, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time permanent position with retail trading hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
