Retail Sales Agent – Customer Finance

About the role

Retail Sales Agent at M‑KOPA in Gauteng, South Africa, working on the retail floor to engage customers, explain financing options for smartphones, cash devices and SIM solutions, and support them through onboarding and after‑sales service.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers on the retail floor, start conversations and guide them through M‑KOPA’s product offering.
• Walk customers through financing options clearly and confidently.
• Assist with onboarding processes such as RICA compliance.
• Ensure every customer leaves understanding exactly what they have signed up for.
• Handle customer questions, concerns and after‑sales support, providing real‑time problem solving.
• Build trust through consistent, professional engagement.
• Perform daily stock counts, reconciliation and maintain organised, secure storage areas.
• Receive, verify deliveries and report discrepancies quickly and accurately.
• Support sales representatives with collections, returns and contribute to monthly stock takes.
• Maintain close communication with the Field Sales Manager, sharing updates and navigating challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail or sales with the ability to engage, advise and close effectively.
• Confidence in handling objections and guiding customer decisions.
• Strong attention to detail, especially regarding stock accuracy.
• Reliability and consistency; team members can count on you.
• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Self‑driven, resilient and energized by working with people.
