Retail Key Account Manager – Johannesburg

About the role

We are seeking a driven Retail Key Account Manager to join our fast‑growing technology distribution team in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for expanding the presence of leading consumer technology brands within major retail chains, helping to bring innovative products such as smart‑home solutions and gaming accessories to market.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow strategic retail key accounts across multiple product categories.
• Develop and execute account strategies aligned with company sales objectives.
• Prepare annual budgets, sales forecasts and detailed account plans.
• Identify growth opportunities, negotiate commercial deals and optimise revenue and profitability.
• Expand product listings and monitor inventory levels in collaboration with internal teams.
• Analyse sales performance, market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with marketing to launch promotional campaigns with measurable ROI.
• Serve as the primary point of contact, building long‑term relationships with retail buyers and decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large retail accounts in the consumer electronics sector.
• Strong relationships with general‑merchandise retail buyers.
• Solid understanding of the retail landscape and ability to anticipate customer needs.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with procurement, finance, marketing and operations.
