Restaurant Supervisor

About the role

The Restaurant Supervisor role is a full‑time, on‑site position at Café Gannet Restaurant in Mossel Bay. You will lead the front‑of‑house team, ensuring smooth service and high guest satisfaction throughout all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily front‑of‑house operations, including staff management and table allocations.
• Monitor food and beverage quality, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Address guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly.
• Train, mentor, and schedule service staff.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to optimise service flow.
• Support stock control, reporting and implement service improvements as needed.

Required profile

• Strong supervisory skills with experience in team leadership, shift management and staff training.
• Proven ability to maintain high customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Effective communication skills in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• Experience in food and beverage operations, including menu knowledge and basic stock awareness.
• Previous supervision experience in a high‑volume or upscale restaurant setting.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of basic health, safety and hygiene practices.
• Relevant hospitality or restaurant management qualification or equivalent experience is advantageous.
