Reservationist

About the role

The Reservationist handles all guest and travel‑agent communications related to bookings, whether they arrive by mail, phone, fax or through our central reservation system. You will create and maintain accurate reservation records, send confirmation letters and process any changes or cancellations promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to reservation inquiries from guests, travel agents and referral networks.
• Create and maintain reservation files organized by arrival date and alphabetically.
• Prepare and dispatch confirmation letters for new bookings.
• Process cancellations, modifications and other reservation changes efficiently.

Required profile

• Matric and a Hospitality Diploma or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years of reservationist experience.
• Proficiency with a hotel management system, preferably Protel.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and calmness under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑oriented yet capable of working independently.
• High attention to detail, honesty and ability to handle confidential information.
