About the role

Ampath, a leading pathology laboratory in Southern Africa, is looking for a relief phlebotomist for its St Augustine location in Gauteng. The role is full time and sits in the medical and healthcare field.

Key responsibilities

• Collect blood and non-blood specimens in line with clinical standards and safety protocols.
• Ensure accurate patient identification, proper specimen handling and complete documentation.
• Capture and manage patient information using digital systems.
• Process patient payments and keep accurate administrative records.
• Deliver a professional, caring and patient-centred experience.
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance, safety and infection control standards.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Recognised qualification in phlebotomy or nursing (Phlebotomy Technician or Registered Nurse).
• Current registration with the HPCSA or SANC.
• Experience is not specified.

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Sound computer literacy and confidence with digital systems.
• Patient-focused mindset and commitment to service excellence.
