Registered Nurse – Trauma Qualified

About the role

Life Groenkloof Hospital is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse with trauma expertise to join the Trauma Unit. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the nurse will deliver high‑quality patient care and support multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic and specialised nursing care to trauma patients.
• Communicate patient condition updates to families and the medical team.
• Administer medication in line with ethical and legal standards.
• Follow internal policies, protocols and quality‑management initiatives.
• Advocate for patients, coordinate case management and alert doctors to concerns.
• Manage stock, staff hours and leave according to company policies.
• Maintain infection‑control standards and complete SHEQ incident reports.
• Ensure equipment is functional, report faults and train staff on specialised devices.
• Accurately record and store patient information per legal requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing; registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Post‑graduate diploma/degree in Trauma and Emergency Nursing.
• At least 1 year of post‑qualification experience in an Emergency Unit.
• Strong customer orientation, energetic, well‑organized and flexible for day and night shifts.
