Registered Nurse – Theatre – Potchefstroom

About the role

The Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in theatre operations to join its surgical team in Potchefstroom. The role involves delivering safe, cost‑effective patient care in the operating theatre, adhering to hospital standards and relevant health legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Attend handover of report at shift commencement
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
• Promote patient health and wellbeing
• Audit health records to ensure compliance
• Ensure all stock is well controlled, managed, charged and credited appropriately
• Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
• Qualification in Operating Room Science (advantage)
• At least 2 years working experience scrubbing in a theatre for all major disciplines
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Capacity to implement and maintain health practice standards and comply with legislation
• Customer‑focused mindset
• Takes full responsibility for own work output
