Registered Nurse – Perioperative

About the role
The Perioperative Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Working under the direction of the department manager or team leader, the RN ensures safe admission, assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients in the perioperative unit.
Key responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate, and adjust patient care plans.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients while completing accurate documentation.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and report significant changes promptly.
- Coordinate discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team.
- Apply age‑specific standards of care for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to educate patients and families.
- Participate in research awareness and practice improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
- Current state RN license.
- Current CPR certification; ACLS, PALS or TNCC certifications as required by policy.
- Previous RN experience in a related care area preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand/walk for 5+ hours daily.
