Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care (NNICU)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse with NNICU expertise to provide specialised care for critically ill and premature newborns in a high‑acuity unit. The role is based in Rustenburg and involves working closely with neonatologists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for each infant.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonates requiring intensive support.
• Continuously monitor vital signs and clinical status, responding promptly to any changes.
• Administer medications and specialised treatments according to established protocols.
• Operate and maintain neonatal equipment such as incubators, ventilators and monitoring devices.
• Provide education and emotional support to parents throughout the hospital stay.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to infection‑prevention standards.
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses and allied health professionals.

Required profile

• Relevant Nursing Degree or Diploma with current registration on the South African Nursing Council.
• Post‑basic qualification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing.
• Minimum two years of experience working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
• Demonstrated clinical competence in a NICU environment.
• Computer literacy and strong communication skills.
