Registered Nurse – Medical Ward

About the role

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe, cost‑effective and high‑quality patient care within a medical ward of a hospital. The role involves direct and indirect nursing responsibilities, clinical governance participation and ensuring compliance with hospital standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to individual patients or groups, ensuring safe, cost‑effective and high‑quality care.
• Assess, plan, execute and supervise the implementation of patient care plans in accordance with hospital standards.
• Act as a role model for evidence‑based practice, participate in clinical governance and audit health records for compliance.
• Manage stock control, risk prevention and the acuity‑skill mix to maintain appropriate levels of care.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
• 1–5 years of experience in a similar nursing position, preferably in private healthcare.
• Compliance with SANC code and relevant healthcare legislation.
• Fluent English communication and ability to work within the medical ward environment.
