Registered Nurse – Cardiac Ward

About the role

A Registered Nurse is needed on the Cardiac Ward in Paardevlei. The nurse provides and promotes cost-effective, safe and high-quality patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and is personally accountable for their own acts and omissions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients or groups of patients
• Assess, plan, execute and supervise the implementation of care to meet patient needs
• Act as a role model for evidence-based care and take part in clinical governance
• Audit health records to ensure compliance and control stock so it is charged and credited correctly
• Manage risk prevention, acuity and skill mix to ensure an appropriate level of care

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or Midwife
• 1 to 5 years of experience in the same position
• Compliance with the SANC code and applicable healthcare legislation
• Experience in private healthcare or the healthcare funding industry is advantageous; specialist qualifications are also advantageous
