Registered Nurse – Medical – Hospital Group – Kathu

About the role

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe, cost‑effective patient care in line with hospital standards. You will be responsible for direct and indirect nursing care of individual patients or groups, ensuring holistic health promotion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient care within the Scope of Practice and assume full responsibility for assigned activities.
• Participate in handover meetings at the start of each shift.
• Identify and respond to life‑threatening situations promptly.
• Communicate clearly with patients about their care plans.
• Promote patients' health and wellbeing throughout their stay.
• Conduct detailed handovers to ward sisters.
• Audit health records for compliance with regulations.
• Manage stock levels, ensuring accurate charging and crediting.
• Maintain positive public relations with patients, relatives, and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse (or equivalent).
• NQF Level 7 nursing qualification.
• Matriculation certificate.
• Compulsory Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Flexibility to work varied hours/shifts.
• Ability to uphold health practice standards and relevant legislation.
