Registered Nurse – ICU (Qualified)

About the role

A vacancy exists for a qualified Registered Nurse to work in the Surgical ICU at Life Springs Parkland Hospital. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the nurse will deliver holistic, high‑quality care to critically ill patients, aligning with the hospital’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic and specialised nursing care to ICU patients.
• Communicate continuously with patients and families about condition and care plans.
• Administer medication in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Follow internal policies, protocols and quality management systems.
• Advocate for patients, coordinate with case management and notify doctors of any concerns.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and support staff training and development.
• Manage ICU stock, staff hours and leave in line with company policies.
• Maintain infection control standards and complete SHEQ alerts and incident reports.
• Ensure equipment is functional, report faults and educate staff on proper use.
• Accurately record patient information according to legal and ethical requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Nursing.
• Diploma in Critical Care Nursing.
• Previous nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• Strong customer orientation, team‑player attitude, high energy and excellent organisational skills.
