About the role
The Registered Nurse will deliver safe, cost-effective, high-quality patient care in the ICU of a hospital in Paardevlei. As a professional practitioner, the nurse is accountable for all actions and omissions and will lead evidence-based care for individual patients or groups.
Key responsibilities
- Render and promote cost-effective, safe quality patient care in line with hospital standards.
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care, including assessment, planning, execution and supervision of patient care.
- Act as a role model in evidence-based practice and participate in clinical governance and health record auditing.
- Manage stock control, risk prevention, and ensure appropriate acuity and skill‑mix for optimal patient outcomes.
Required profile
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
- Relevant critical nursing care qualification.
- 1–5 years of experience in a similar ICU position.
- Compliance with the SANC code and applicable healthcare legislation.
