Registered Nurse ICU (Experienced)

About the role

Lenmed is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse for the General ICU department at Howick Private Hospital in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. The nurse delivers safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and provides direct and/or indirect nursing care to patients or groups of patients, assessing, planning, executing and supervising care.

Key responsibilities

• Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and take full responsibility for these activities.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients and communicate effectively with them about their care.
• Attend shift handover reports at the start of each shift.
• Promote the health and wellbeing of patients and maintain good relations with patients, relatives and visitors.
• Audit health records to ensure compliance.
• Ensure all stock is well controlled, managed, charged and credited appropriately.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, or an equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
• Relevant qualification and experience in a specialist area.
• Flexibility to work varying hours and shifts.
• Capacity to uphold health practice standards required by accredited bodies and health legislation.
