Registered Nurse – ICU / Critical Care

About the role

Our client, a multi‑professional acute care and rehabilitation hospital in Bloemfontein, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide critical care services on a part‑time, temporary basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and supporting the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties in accordance with the professional scope of practice for ICU care.
• Assess, monitor, and manage critically ill patients, including the use of relevant clinical procedures.
• Document patient observations, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with critical care interventions.

Required profile

• Immediate availability for placement.
• Current SANC licence and personal indemnity cover.
• Previous experience working in an ICU or critical care setting.
• Post‑basic Diploma or Certificate in Critical Care Nursing (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of the nursing scope of practice and patient care standards.
