Registered Nurse – Hospital (Johannesburg)

About the role

The position is for a Registered Nurse at Life Brackenview Hospital in Johannesburg, reporting to Unit Manager Keorapetse Ramokgopa. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality patient care and ensuring professional, ethical nursing practice within the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure professional and ethical practice in the unit.
• Provide and supervise nursing care in line with legislation and ethical codes.
• Accept accountability for personal professional actions.
• Develop and manage comprehensive nursing care plans using the scientific nursing process.
• Coordinate and supervise nursing activities of the healthcare team delivering basic care.
• Enhance patient satisfaction through quality‑improvement initiatives and complaint management.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with the multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in maintaining an emotionally and physically safe patient environment.
• Contribute to business efficiency through cost‑effective patient care and resource management.
• Coach, mentor, and support staff development and performance management.

Required profile

• General Nursing Degree/Diploma with psychiatric nursing qualification and registration with the SANC.
• Relevant experience and technical skill to meet the outlined responsibilities.
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry and its challenges.
• Computer proficiency (advantageous).
• Willingness to work flexi‑hours and hold a valid driver’s licence.
