Registered Manager – Specialist Children's Residential Home

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Manager to lead a specialist children’s residential home in Maidstone, Kent. The home provides therapeutic, trauma‑informed care for children and young people with learning disabilities and emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations of the residential home.
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, child‑centred environment.
• Champion trauma‑informed and therapeutic approaches.
• Lead, support and develop the staff team.
• Promote reflective practice and continuous learning.
• Ensure high standards of care and safeguarding.
• Collaborate with practitioners, external agencies and professional networks.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a residential children’s setting.
• Experience supporting children with learning disabilities and/or emotional and behavioural needs.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed and therapeutic approaches.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with professionals and agencies.
• Commitment to reflective practice and professional development.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to complete within two years).
