Regional Organiser – Ikapa South

About the role
The Regional Organiser will lead union organising and representation activities in the Ikapa South region. Reporting to the Regional Secretary, the role focuses on building strong branches, supporting shop stewards and representing members in collective bargaining and grievance processes.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and recruit workers within the union’s scope.
- Coordinate collective bargaining and lead negotiations with employers in the region.
- Develop vibrant branches, shop‑steward committees and sub‑structures to deliver high‑quality member services.
- Train and support shop stewards and office bearers.
- Work with the Paralegal Officer to build a capable paralegal team for disciplinary, conciliation and arbitration matters.
- Represent members in grievance and disciplinary hearings when required and refer cases to appropriate forums.
- Submit monthly reports and programmes to the Regional Secretary and PHOSEC.
Required profile
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Formal qualification in labour law or labour relations.
- Experience working within a trade‑union movement.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Required skills
- Computer literacy with MS Office packages.
- Ability to draft agreements.
