Regional Manager, Northern Cape

About the role

The Regional Manager will lead investment activities in the Northern Cape, overseeing deal origination, financial analysis, and regional office operations while building strategic partnerships to meet development and investment targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, originate and structure commercially viable deals aligned with the mandate in the Northern Cape.
• Develop robust financial models, conduct risk and sensitivity analyses, and prepare investment proposals for committee approval.
• Oversee post‑approval implementation, handover to the Post‑Investment team, and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
• Lead daily operations of the regional office, mentor the analyst and administrator, and ensure compliance with policies and reporting standards.
• Engage with municipalities, provincial departments, DFIs and business chambers to build a pipeline of projects that drive job creation and economic growth.
• Represent the province in stakeholder forums, investment panels and outreach programmes to promote visibility and alignment with strategic priorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in investment analysis, deal structuring or corporate finance, preferably in SME funding, venture capital or development finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; postgraduate qualification (Honours, CFA Level 1, MBA) advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to originate and close transactions independently and to engage effectively with government and development stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced financial modelling and Excel proficiency.
• Strong analytical, valuation and credit‑risk assessment capabilities.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive investment proposals, risk analyses and valuation reports.
