Regional Education Manager

About the role

The Regional Education Manager will be based at the Port Elizabeth Learning Centre and report to the Academic Affairs Manager. The role oversees the coordination and management of nursing education programmes, ensuring that qualified nurses are produced to meet regional healthcare needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage theory and practical nursing education programmes and maintain accreditation with relevant authorities.
• Plan student intake, allocate nurse educators, and drive a 96% pass rate while marketing external talent.
• Organise the annual graduation ceremony and oversee student recruitment and documentation.
• Provide visible leadership, recruit, retain and develop staff in line with LHC values and policies.
• Administer student fee payments, monitor overheads and ensure sound financial management.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, participate in regional nursing forums and community projects.
• Ensure learning centre operations run smoothly, address issues promptly and uphold quality systems.
• Drive research initiatives within the centre and region.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in nursing.
• Diploma or degree in Nursing Education and Management.
• Minimum five years’ experience in an education or facilitation role.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council and SANC registration as an assessor and moderator.
• Strong knowledge of the education legislative environment and private healthcare sector.
• Computer proficiency (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Learner Management System).
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel.
