About the role

The Reception Administrator supports patients through admissions and discharge processes at Mediclinic Bloemfontein. The role ensures smooth patient flow while protecting the organisation from operational and financial risks and upholding high standards of confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

  • Capture and process admissions, including pre‑admissions and bookings, in line with established procedures.
  • Identify and prevent financial risks by adhering to policies such as handling of blacklisted patients and patient valuables.
  • Manage the discharge process according to the Patient Administration Manual.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.

Required profile

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (essential education).
  • Reception administration experience, preferably in a private healthcare facility (desired experience).

Required skills

  • Debtpack Enquiry application.
  • AS400 patient administration system.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Hospital switchboard systems.
  • ICD and CPT coding knowledge.
