Receiving & Dispatch Clerk

About the role

The Receiving & Dispatch Clerk ensures the accurate handling of incoming and outgoing goods in a cold‑storage environment. You will work closely with operations, planning, and compliance teams to keep the facility running smoothly and meet client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Verify incoming shipments against delivery documents and purchase orders, inspect quantity and condition, and record discrepancies.
• Allocate storage locations and maintain an organized receiving area.
• Prepare and verify outgoing shipments, ensure correct labelling, packing, and export documentation.
• Coordinate dispatch schedules with planning coordinators and communicate with transporters.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all received and dispatched goods.
• Support inventory counts, audits, and report stock discrepancies.
• Ensure the workspace complies with health, safety, and export regulations.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in receiving, dispatch, or logistics (preferred).
• Familiarity with cold‑storage operations, especially in fruit export.
• Physical ability to work in cold temperatures, stand for long periods, and lift goods as needed.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy for data entry and documentation.
• Basic knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
