Receiving and Dispatch Controller

About the role

Triton Express, a Plennegy Group company founded in 1987 and now operating across Southern Africa, is hiring a Receiving and Dispatch Controller for its Port Elizabeth branch. The role covers capturing and distributing waybills, issuing waybill numbers, printing manifests, liaising with clients and supervising cargo loading and sorting.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and distribute waybills and POD data, enter client waybill and delivery details in Freightware, and issue agent waybill numbers and manifests.
• Provide client quotations and contact clients about parcel collections, verify waybills, arrange collection/delivery and release goods.
• Collect and sort waybills by route, check cargo for damage and shortages, and scan parcels into trucks.
• Supervise cargo loading, ensure safety compliance, and direct parcel sorting into destination areas.
• Monitor vehicle activity with a satellite-tracking system and process agents' freight, including airfreight lodging and upliftment.
• Print trip sheets, obtain driver signatures, record vehicle registrations and log off.
• Verify documentation, signatures and waybill numbers, record cheques received in zone files, and debrief collection schedules daily.

Required profile

• Grade 12.
• 2 years of general clerical experience.
• Basic understanding of warehousing procedures and computer operations.
• Basic customer care skills.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of Freightware or similar; Freight Management system preferred.
• Commercial arithmetic calculations.
• Operation of general office equipment.
