Real Estate Development Manager / Senior Project Manager (Pipeline Role)

About the role

We are building a talent pipeline for future Real Estate Development Manager and Senior Project Manager positions within Deloitte’s Real Estate practice in Johannesburg. The role will involve overseeing construction and development projects from planning through hand‑over, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Deloitte standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of projects, from town planning and development coordination to final hand‑over.
• Oversee project planning, coordination and execution to deliver within scope, budget and timelines.
• Collaborate with external professional teams and internal stakeholders to resolve issues quickly.
• Monitor project performance, manage risks and produce detailed reports and documentation.
• Maintain a strong site presence to guide, support and oversee delivery on the ground.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration – Pr.CPM with SACPCMP or PMP/CAPM certification.
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in project or development management, preferably in real estate or infrastructure.
• Site‑management background is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Pr.CPM registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions.
• PMP certification.
• CAPM certification.
