Radiography Medical Receptionist

About the role

The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients attending a private radiography practice in the Johannesburg Northern Suburbs. This full‑time, onsite position requires a professional and courteous approach to handling patient interactions and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform frontline reception duties, greeting patients and managing appointment schedules.
• Maintain accurate patient records and process registrations using the HIMS system.
• Handle insurance and billing tasks, applying ICD‑10 codes and coordinating with medical aid schemes.
• Rotate between two clinic branches, ensuring consistent service standards at each location.
• Provide clear communication and support to patients under pressure, maintaining high standards of patient care.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Previous reception experience within a radiography or medical environment.
• Own reliable transport for rotating between branches.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and deliver excellent customer service.

Required skills

• ICD‑10 coding.
• Medical aid scheme processing.
• Proficiency with the HIMS system.
